Regulation of medicinal products for human use in the European Community

Abstract:
Legislation within the European Community that mandates provisions for medicinal products for human use as well as the procedures governing proprietary medicinal products, including controls on product manufacturing and protection of pharmaceutical innovation, are discussed. In addition, a brief discussion of the future system for authorization of medicinal products in the European Community is provided.
