AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck & Novartis Vie for Multiple Honors – DTC Perspectives Announces Advertising Awards Finalists for the DTC Pharmaceutical Marketing Industry

Winners Announced at DTC National
Major Pharmaceutical Brands Vie For Top Honors at DTC National Advertising Awards

FLORHAM PARK, NJ, Feb. 27, 2007-Several of 2006’s newest DTC brands will compete for top honors at the DTC National Advertising Awards. Branded and Unbranded work from Gardasil, Rozerem, and Tamiflu can be found on the finalists list in multiple categories, along with other major brands such as Crestor, Cymbalta, and Vytorin.

“Delegates attending the DTC National Conference will determine the winners for both the Best Branded TV and Best Branded Print campaign awards,” announced Bob Ehrlich, CEO of DTC Perspectives, and DTC National Conference Chairman. “Independent expert judging panels determine award winners for the other categories.”

Gold, Silver & Bronze winners of all the DTC National Advertising Awards will be announced at a gala dinner on April 11, 2007, hosted by RealAge as part of the DTC National Conference (April 10 – 12, 2007 in Washington DC).

This year’s independent judging panel included Angela Federici, SVP, Pharmaceutical Practice Leader, Millward Brown; Fariba Zamaniyan, VP, IAG Research; Fred Church, VP, Health Practice, Ipsos; Joan Connors, VP Marketing Communications, Harris Interactive and Jeff Wasserman, VP, The Pretesting Co.

The June issue of DTC Perspectives Magazine will feature coverage of the DTC National Conference and will profile each of the DTC National Advertising Award winners.

Finalists for each of the categories are listed below, with winners to be announced at the DTC National Advertising Awards Dinner on April 11, 2007. For the categories of Branded TV and Branded Print, 10 finalists will be presented to the delegates at the DTC National Conference. Winners in those two categories will be chosen by interactive voting during the Conference.
