Abstract:
An overview of the regulatory and legislative factors that have affected prescription cost coverage for immunosuppressive therapy following organ transplantation for Medicare patients is presented, including the relationship between Medicare and Medicaid programs and other health benefit programs and pharmaceutical industry programs that help provide access to these drugs for low income patients.
