Abstract:

The stance taken by the pharmaceutical industry toward the Maine Rx Program, in which the state of Maine acts as a pharmacy benefit manager to negotiate lower prescription drug prices for state residents who have no insurance or who have plans that do not cover drugs, and a lawsuit filed by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) against the Maine Rx program are discussed.
