State prescription drug benefit plans
US Pharmacist 2001 Jul; 26:46, 51-52, 55

Abstract:

A legal case in which the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) took the state of Maine to court in an attempt to block implementation of the state’s prescription drug benefit plan that permits residents of the state of Maine who are not Medicaid eligible or covered under any other prescription drug benefit program to purchase prescribed medications at Medicaid rates is discussed; it was noted that this case is now remanded back to the district court for a trial.

There is no sin in being wrong. The sin is in our unwillingness to examine our own beliefs, and in believing that our authorities cannot be wrong. Far from creating cynics, such a story is likely to foster a healthy and creative skepticism, which is something quite different from cynicism.”
