Crossing the border: seniors turn to Canada and Mexico to fight high prescription costs
Acta Poloniae Pharmaceutica Drug Research 2001 Sep-Oct; 4:4-7
Abstract:
The purchasing, i.e. importation, of prescription medications by U.S. senior citizens at lower prices from bordering countries, including Mexico and particularly Canada, either directly or via the Internet and the legal implications regarding this practice, issues regarding high drug costs in the United States, and options in the United States for helping senior citizens manage the cost of their prescription medications, including prescription drug patient assistance programs sponsored by the pharmaceutical industry, are discussed.
