Abstract:

This article outlines the promising opportunities for e-business and the pharmaceutical industry presented at the 2001 ePharma Summit. These include web-enabled clinical trials, the use of electronic systems in clinical trials, use of e-detailing to sell products to physicians, electronic customer management systems, the use of e-prescribing by physicians and development of interactive animation software to use with their sales forces, healthcare provider customers, and direct-to-consumer marketing campaigns.
