Abstract:

This discussion examines the market potential of mid-level practitioners such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants as prescribers of pharmaceutical products. State regulations regarding prescribers, the prescriptive powers of non-physician disciplines, and the interstate differences with regard to licensing and scope of practice is also considered.
