Patel RA, Ravnan MC.
Consumer-directed advertising of prescription medications
California Journal of Health System Pharmacy 2003; 15:(6):15-18

Abstract:

This article discusses the pros and cons of direct-to-consumer (DTC) advertising of prescription drugs. Proponents argue that DTC advertising educates the public about their health and urges them to take control of their own health care. The article outlines some ethical and economic issues associated with DTC advertising.
