Abstract:

This article discusses whether pharmacy benefit managers should be required to reveal to their clients the secret deals they make with drug manufacturers. There was a call for more transparency in the industry at a recent annual meeting of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy. Some skeptics believe that this could lead to higher costs.
