Ho M, Armstrong A.
Monitoring of drug advertising in Canada
1992 Feb 2-4

Abstract:

This article outlines the roles of different groups in monitoring drug advertising in Canada: Health Protection Branch, Pharmaceutical Advertising Advisory Board and Canadian Advertising Foundation. The Health Protection Branch is responsible for monitoring all promotion directed at the general public and preclears all broadcast advertisements. The Pharmaceutical Advertising Advisory Board monitors all drug advertising directed at health professionals and the Canadian Advertising Foundation is indirectly involved with monitoring DTCA advertising of over-the-counter drugs since it examines all advertising directed at the general public.
