Abstract:

THE ADGP has filmed its own childhood anti-obesity ads with the help of money from the food industry’s main lobby group, which has been attacked for fighting moves to ban junk food ads targeting children.
The anti-obesity ads, which have the catchline ‘Childhood obesity: don’t make your kids wear it’, were made by the ADGP under a joint funding arrangement with the Australian Food and Grocery Council (AFGC).
The ads urge parents who are concerned about their child’s weight to contact their GP for advice. They include both the ADGP’s and the council’s logos.
