Abstract:

THE RACGP is set to receive payments for distributing to GPs a market research survey designed for the pharmaceutical industry.Last month 5000 college members received a letter via e-mail from market research company UltraFeedback. The letter said every survey filled in by a college member would result in a donation to the colleges research foundation. The letter also stated: You should note that this survey has not been endorsed or developed by the RACGP.”Australian Doctor has learned UltraFeedback will pay the college $30 for every survey completed by a college member.The survey asks recipients how they view different pharmaceutical company representatives, which company representatives are preferred, and how GPs rate advertising and educational materials provided by different companies.The college said…
