Research in the physician's office: navigating the ethical minefield.
Hastings Cent Rep 2008 Mar-Apr; 38:(2):23-5

Abstract:
The article focuses on the ethical aspects of conducting clinical research in the physician’s office. As industry funding of research in academic medical centers has declined, more and more physicians’ offices and private testing centers find themselves at the receiving end of research funding. However, a physician must consider the impact of the clinical trial on the physician-patient relationship. The physician must also consider the scientific validity and value of the trial, as well as compensation issues and conflicts of interest.
