Lederle to donate cefixime to homeless persons through community health centers
American Journal of Hospital Pharmacy 1990 May; 47:964
Abstract:
It was announced that Lederle Laboratories has plans for donating $10 million worth of cefixime (Suprax; I), an antimicrobial agent effective against respiratory infections, to homeless patients, through the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC). Through NACHC, a nonprofit organization that represents more than 600 private nonprofit community health-care organizations, I will be distributed at no cost to homeless patients and others served at more than 2000 community and migrant health clinic sites nationwide. Health center physicians prescribing I will dispense vouchers for patients to redeem free of charge at onsite or local pharmacies. The pharmacists will then dispense the drug and return the completed voucher to Lederle. Lederle will reimburse the pharmacy for acquisition cost and the usual and customary dispensing fee.
