Abstract:
The prospects of detail forces, an important means of promotion and marketing in pharmaceutical industry, are discussed. The negative effects of brand name prescription drugs coming off patent, direct-to-consumer advertising and complaints about the cost and morality of pharmaceutical promotion, the positive effects of newly developed drugs and the belief that one-on-one promotion is the most effective marketing method available are outlined.
