Abstract:
The reasons for the restructuring in the U.S. prescription marketplace are discussed, including the shift to outpatient settings, regulatory action, pharmaceutical cost, payer’s awareness, point-of-sale benefits mediation, drugs injected in the medical office, and advances in drug management. Guidelines for making the third-party payers part of industry’s marketing targets are presented.
