Abstract:
The passage of a bill to levy fees on the pharmaceutical industry to promote reduced review times at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration through the hiring of 600 reviewers is discussed, and legislation that was considered but not passed is described, including flat rate discounts, prescription price control, insurance antitrust, and a third class of drugs.
