Abstract:

A few of the major ways taxpayer money helps subsidize drug manufacturers are presented, and the contribution of the U.S. government in funding health-related research, offshore and overseas breaks for pharmaceutical companies, how drug prices are set, sources of payment for retail outpatient prescription drugs in the United States, where consumers’ prescription dollars go, and recommendations to control prescription drug costs are discussed.
