Dispensing doctors-international perspective
Journal of Social and Administrative Pharmacy 1994; 11:(3):106-111

Abstract:

The attitudes of legislators, patients, and third party payors concerning the need, if any, for dispensing doctors are given in the results of a questionnaire dealing with perceptions of dispensing doctors, methods of combating dispensing by doctors, statistical comparisons, and legislative approaches. Increased costs and conflict of interest are stressed as reasons physician dispensing is not in the best interest of patients or third party payors.
