Medicine, pharmacy, and industry--a fly's eye view of health care.
Ann Pharmacother 1995 Sep; 29:(9):925-33
Abstract:
The history and role of the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) in health care and in interactions between pharmacy, medicine, and the pharmaceutical industry, are discussed. It is noted that from its beginnings, the USP has provided the forum to discuss and make practical decisions affecting scientific, technical, and professional practice matters that affect prescribing, compounding, manufacturing, and dispensing of drugs. The USP Convention can serve as a neutral meeting ground where medicine, pharmacy, and industry can work together to resolve many issues relating to drugs and their use.
