Abstract:

Activities of and attitudes toward the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) dealing with regulation of the pharmaceutical industry are discussed, including the scale-up and post-approval changes (SUPAC) policy and the MedGuide initiative that requires manufacturers and pharmacists to provide patients with written information about prescription drugs.
