Pharmaceutical Executive 1996 Oct; 16:20, 24, 26

Abstract:

The enactment of several important pieces of legislation in 1996 is discussed, including a bill to boost the minimum wage that carried important tax policy changes that will have significant impact on pharmaceutical companies, welfare reform legislation, health insurance reform legislation that is likely to expand health care coverage and increase reimbursement for prescription drugs, and the 1997 U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) appropriations bill that encourages the agency to establish its MedGuide program if the private sector fails to come up with an acceptable voluntary program.
