College of Pharmacists’ position on prescribing data raises OMA concerns
Ontario Medical Review 1996; 63:(6):25-27

Abstract:

The Ontario Medical Association is surprised that the Ontario College of Pharmacists would allow pharmacists to sell physician prescribing information since the Canadian Pharmaceutical Association [the national body of pharmacists] has said this practice is unethical without the consent of the physician. In British Columbia, the government directed the provincial pharmacy College not to allow this practice. The Ontario College of Pharmacists intends to draft guidelines to assist pharmacists in making their decision about whether or not to sell the data.
