Survey of an industry-based medical information system
Canadian Pharmaceutical Journal 1995; 127:(10):39-43
Abstract:
A questionnaire was sent to 200 health care professionals who had requested medical information from Miles Canada Inc., between May and November 1993. The purpose of the survey was to evaluate the quality of written response and the service provided by the Medical Information Group. One hundred and twenty four (62%) surveys were returned. Approximately two-thirds of the responders were pharmacists (37% retail pharmacists, 19% hospital pharmacists and 10% from drug information centres) and 12% were physicians. This coresponds to the distribution of total callers. Overall, 93% of the responders rated the objectivity of the response as good or higher. Standard responses from our files are generally sent to about one-third of those receiving written responses. More than 95% of those survey rated the service as good or excellent (in terms of efficiency, promptness, courtesy and knowledge).
