More conflicts of interest: review articles sponsored by the pharmaceutical industry
JAMA 1994; 272:1254

Abstract:

Industry support for the publication of a review article should be viewed as part of a company’s marketing efforts. Product endorsement articles lacking objectivity seldom survive journal peer review processes. Further, most scholars realize that it reflects poorly on their academic career if objectivity and professionalism are influenced by financial inducements.
