Organon claims Tolvon has “similar levels of efficacy as amitripyline, imipramine and clomipramine, but is associated with significantly less side-effects” and is “similar in efficacy and side-effects to the newer anti-depressants with which it has been compared”

Abstract:

Organon promotes Tolvon (mianserin) as being as effective as tricyclic antidepressants and newer antidepressants and safer than the tricyclics. These claims are not necessarily substantiated by the scientific literature.
