Consensus conferences as drug promotion

Abstract:
Contrary to what Kingswell said the meeting was clearly subtitled “consensus through regional debate†and the proceedings of a “consensus conference†were given to all who attended. Promotional activity may be packaged as education, debate and information gathering as a way to influence clinical decision making.
