Abstract:

A conference including representatives of industry and consumers drew up a list of points for the next World Health Assembly to consider with regard to drug promotion. The answer does not lie with governments and industry alone. Improvements in promotional practice are most likely is adherence to the WHO ethical criteria is a shared concern of all those who provide health care.
