Abstract:

Parke-Davis did not try to hide any information about the usefulness of gemfibrozil (Lopid). When recent changes to the Lopid package insert were made, Parke-Davis sent out “Dear Doctor” letters to 170000 physicians and 60000 pharmacists. The letter was also published in 12 leading medical journals.
