Prescription drug advertising: An industry perspective
Journal of Pharmaceutical Marketing & Management 1992; 7:(1):33-41

Abstract:

Advertising pharmaceuticals is a complex undertaking because of the nature of our products, our markets, and our customers. We realize that there is much to learn about pharmaceutical advertising, and we continually work to perfect our craft. Advertising is designed to leverage the efforts of a company’s sales force. Pharmaceutical advertising contributes not only to my livelihood, but to yours as well. The sales generated by advertising today enable research-based companies to discover and develop the drugs of tomorrow. Prescription product advertising improves the practice of medicine and by doing so improves the lives of millions of patients.
