Levy G.
Publication bias: its implications for clinical pharmacology.
Clin Pharmacol Ther 1992 Aug; 52:(2):115-9

Abstract:

Publication bias in favour of positive results has been demonstrated a number of times, but there is not enough evidence to justify a definitive conclusion thta the demonstrated bias has been intentional and motivated by self-serving interests of investigators or sponsors. The major source of bias against publishing studies with negative findings is authors. The author offers a number of proposals to mitigate this bias.
