Abstract:

The author is concerned that professional societies may not be able to provide objective nonpromotional activities as Kessler suggests. Medical organizations have refused to acknowledge the pharmaceutical industry’s subtle control of continuing medical education courses by supporting only speakers chosen from a proprietary list.
