Pharmacy Times 1991 Sep; 57:86-88

Abstract:

A summary of Schering Report #13, which concerns pharmacists views of managed health care, is presented. The advantages of managed health care such as increased sales volume and reduced costs, disadvantages such as decreased profits, controlled prices, dictated fees and slow payment, effects on quality of service and the future impact on patient outcomes, doctors’ prescribing habits, the pharmaceutical industry, and pharmacy in general are discussed.
