Abstract:

The procedure of coupling the sale of an over-the-counter (OTC) medication with a prescription drug in the community pharmacy is discussed and survey results concerning the incidence and types of drugs in companion selling are presented. The attitudes of community pharmacists and OTC drug manufacturers toward this practice and factors that deter companion selling are also discussed.
