Annual business outlook: will 1995 really be as good as it looks?

Abstract:

The results of an annual survey of 595 community pharmacists concerning their business outlook in 1995 are presented, including the kind of business yr 1995 will be, the kind of business yr 1994 was, the outlook for reimbursement in light of managed care and the lift on the moratorium for Medicaid cutbacks, the impact of price discrimination and mergers in the pharmaceutical industry, prescription to OTC switches, homeopathy, and salary forecasts. Results indicate that 13% of pharmacists surveyed expected a very good year, 40% a good yr, and 33% a fair yr.
