Pharmaceutical industry in Canada: its environment and performance
Canadian Pharmaceutical Journal 1978 Jan; 111:6-7
Abstract:
A discussion is presented on how the Canadian pharmaceutical industry has dealt with the pressures, criticisms and challenges from the public, professions and government. Generic prescribing, product selection legislation, comparative drug indexes and price competition are examined as they influence the pharmaceutical industry. Viewing the performance of the ethical pharmaceutical industry in the Canadian environment, it may be seen that it provides a positive and significant contribution to the country in both economic and social terms.
