FDA is meeting the performance goals of the Prescription Drug User Fee Act
Pharmaceutical Technology 1997 Jan; 21:40

Abstract:

A synopsis of a speech by outgoing U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner David A. Kessler is presented; the commissioner reviews the increase in the number of new molecular entities approved by the FDA from the 1960s to the present. The data show that the FDA is meeting the performance goals of the Prescription Drug User Fee Act and, in fact, may be ahead of Europe in introducing new medicines.
