Abstract:

The provision of information about prescription drugs to consumers, the role that pharmaceutical companies have played in consumer communications, the new guidelines of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding direct to consumer advertising, the pharmacist’s role as a source of drug information, and other information resources for consumers are discussed.
