Abstract:
A physician’s reaction to a prescription refill reminder program conducted by Wal-Mart pharmacies and sponsored by Merck & Co. that is aimed at patients who do not regularly refill their prescriptions for simvastatin (Zocor) is presented, with an emphasis on the patient confidentiality and ethics issues that are raised by this type of program.
