Abstract:

This chapter details the evolution of Health Action International from focusing on single issue campaigns to a more global orientation of encouraging long-term reform. Campaigns discussed include appetite suppressants, bromocriptine (Parlodel-promoted for lactation suppression) and general work on drug promotion and in support of the World Health Organization’s Ethical Criteria for Medicinal Drug Promotion.
