Abstract:

The guidelines from the Canadian Medical Association do not prevent or discourage companies from sponsoring continuing medical education events. The updated guidelines represent a substantial consensus among medical associations, CME providers and indusgtry in Canada. The remaining challenges are implementing the guidelines and expanding them into areas of medical education and research.
