Joseph P.
Consumer product information affects us all: iv. medical practitioner view
Australian Prescriber 1996; 19:33-34

Abstract:

Consumer product information is a challenge to current medical practice which doctors must meet. The current plan for distribution of CPI is at the point of dispensing-the pharmacy. If CPI is provided by pharmacists, new and complex professional and personal relationships need to be established. If doctors do not provide CPI, interprofessional conflict will escalate. Advice by the pharmacist should be supplementary and complementary to what the doctor provides.
