Pharmaceutical advertisements in Australian medical publications--have they improved?
Med J Aust 1994 Dec 5-19; 161:(11-12):671-2

Abstract:

Advertisements in Australian medical journals that appeared in 1991 and 1992 were assessed and the results were compared with previous surveys done in 1986, 1987 and 1989. Although a large proportion of advertisements technically breached the Code of Conduct of the Australian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, only a small minority made unacceptable claims or had unacceptable graphics. Furthermore, there were fewer advertisements assessed as unacceptable compared to the previous surveys.
