Abstract:

MaLAM has written to Farmitalia Carlo Erba, Parke-Davis and Wyeth about the marketing of different drugs for diarrhea. Farmitalia Carlo Erba has not responded to MaLAM, Parke-Davis will replace the combination product paromomycin + kaolin + pectin with one containing just paromomycin but has not provided any evidence for the use of paromomycin. Wyeth announced that all of the companies antidiarrheals are being withdrawn.
