Portrayal of women in advertisements.

Abstract:

Advertisements for antidepressants, anxiolytics and antipsychotics in the British Journal of Psychiatry were examined for a 30 year period. There was no gender bias in the numbers of women shown but whereas men tended to be shown at work or worrying about deadlines women were shown at home or with children.
