Persantine advertisement: artistic license or misleading implication?
JAMA 1990 Feb 2; 263:(5):658-9
Abstract:
An ad for Persantine from Boehringer Ingelheim suggests that thrombosis and embolization arises in peripheral blood vessels and can be prevented by Persantine. Persantine is often misused for peripheral vascular disease, something that it is not indicated for. The ad should be withdrawn and the company required to clarify the misleading information.
